Wheelchair users please note that there are steps at the end of King
Charles Street. Great George Street, therefore, is a more accessible route.    See map >>

Until late September 2008 Horse Guards Road (part of the Royal Parks restricted traffic area) will be undergoing resurfacing works, there will be additional restrictions to drive through traffic and passengers may find that the nearest drop off point to the CMCWR is in Great George Street or Birdcage Walk.

Please note that for reasons of security, we do no operate a cloakroom service.

The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms (CM&CWR) is fully accessible to mobility impaired users. There is a lift to the basement level (single level display and exhibition area). The CM&CWR are wheelchair accessible throughout - the entire site is without stairs.

The main entrance is on Horseguards Road. There is a set of glass double doors (1240mm in total width), which open inwards. The historic nature of the site means that there are some narrow points within the corridors and doorways. The narrowest width is 763mm which is sufficient for a standard wheelchair to pass through.

Due to the historic nature of the site, there is limited seating available. There are seats in the Churchill Museum which is approximately one third of the way through the tour. There are seats in the cafe, which is approximately half way through the tour. The cafe is fully wheelchair accessible.

Our Corporate Hospitality areas are also wheelchair accessible.

Two wheelchairs are available for use by any visiting members of the public.

The Museum has two accessible toilets.
